Graduation Day in the Borderland

Thousands of students graduated today in the borderland!
Hundreds of people packed the Don Haskins center today for the UTEP commencement. This afternoon, seniors in the college of business and education crossed the stage.

"it feels like a weight's been lifted off my shoulder's. Been behind my wife, she has her bachelor's and masters in education so it feels good to graduate," said UTEP graduate Julio Cano.

Another graduate Christina Cuellar, said she was very excited and looking forward to finding a job as a teacher.

Tonight seniors in the colleges of engineering, science, and health sciences, school of nursing and UT co-op programs will cross the stage.

Unemployment numbers are comprised of those that are in the job market for the past 30 days. It does not include those that have not been in the job market in the last 30 days: people who have given up looking; those that have gone off unemployment because it has run out.
