Compass Bank Robbery
EL PASO - El Paso's local law enforcement agencies are asking for your help in this week's Crime of the Week.
On Friday, March 11th, at around 11:30 A.M., a man walked into the Compass Bank located at 7744 N. Loop. Once inside, the suspect approached a teller window and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller, fearing for the safety of everyone in the bank, turned over an undisclosed amount of money, and the suspect left the bank. The suspect was last seen walking away from the bank heading west on North Loop.
There is no vehicle information in this case. The suspect was seen in surveillance photos wearing a dark colored New York Yankees baseball cap turned backwards, dark polo style shirt with white horizontal stripes, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The suspect is described as an Hispanic man 25-30 years old, approximately 5’6-7”, weighing between 250-270 pounds, with a medium complexion, dark brown eyes, dark hair, and a thick mustache with goatee. This Compass Bank was robbed by a different subject on January 28, 2011 and that case is still under investigation.
This case is being worked by the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force, which includes the El Paso Police Department and El Paso Sheriff’s Office.
