EL PASO -- Electricity is up and running in a part of El Paso's lower valley.

El Paso Electric officials say power went out around 9:20 Tuesday morning in the Ascarate area, near Carolina and Alameda.  Close to 10,000 customers were without electricity for about 30 minutes.

Work crews restored power to that area around 9:45 am. The cause of the power outage remains under investigation.
