EL PASO- El Paso Electric and El Paso Community College announced this afternoon they'll team to create more renewable energy in the city.
El Paso Electric plans to install enough solar panels at the college to generate 18 kilowatts of power. Two kilowatts of that power will be donated to El Paso Community College's advanced technology center. The electric company also says it will share system data with the school as a study tool for students.

You realize, of course, that the term "renewable energy" is misleading. Whatever energy is collected by these panels will be used and will no longer be in existence. So it is NOT RENEWABLE, has never been RENEWABLE and likely will NEVER BE RENEWABLE. Think about it.

Renewable energy is describing energy from a renewable SOURCE, one that is naturally replenished at a rate greater than or equal to its rate of use. Oil, coal, natural gas,..don't meet this condition and are not sustainable sources of energy at their current rate of use. I see how the term "renewable energy" could be a little misleading, so is your statement that the energy "will no longer be in existence". Please recall the Law of Conservation of Energy, energy cannot be created nor destroyed.
