Chavez Hearing

EL PASO - The Ethics Commission Chairman of El Paso County accused of molesting a family member made an appearance in court today. David Chavez is charged with aggravated sexual assault involving a relative who's pregnant.
Chavez appeared before a court in a protective order hearing just after four this afternoon, but apparently, his attorney didn't get the memo.
The 63-year-old sexual assault defendant was supposed to present pre-trial materials to the judge. He'll now have until Thursday at noon to do so.
Chavez is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old female relative who's now pregnant. The victim in this case reports Chavez abused her for the past five years... at least twice a week in more recent times.
Police say there is now a second allegation against Chavez.
They won't elaborate except to say it's criminal in nature.
His trial is set for August 26th at 2 p.m.
