EL PASO - Construction on I10 near North Loop is being blamed for part of the freeway being shut down Sunday.

Drivers on I10 had to exit onto Gateway East near Zaragoza, because the Eastbound lanes were closed for construction. Long lines were causing some drivers to jump curbs in order to keep going. Drivers say they know the construction will help traffic in the long run, but right now they're frustrated.

Tonight the freeway should be back open. We tried called TXDOT to find out if drivers in the area can expect more delays, but they have not returned our call.
