The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience anchoring and covering local sports for a commercial television station.  Experience with College sports a plus. The position requires a lot of flexibility with scheduling.  NewsChannel 9 is a fast paced newsroom where managers put an emphasis on breaking news.  That applies to our sports coverage as well.  Our Sports Director will manage a full staff of photographers during Friday Night Football, will produce a 30 minute NFL special on Sunday Night and will be responsible for making sure our coverage of local sports is complete and relevant in the market.
