Morning Anchor/Reporter

 

 

 

 

 

KTSM – the NBC affiliate in El Paso, TX. Currently has an opening for Morning News Anchor.

 

 

 

The successful candidate must have solid anchoring experience; reporting and storytelling skills are a must.  We are looking for a morning anchor who is energetic and a good communicator.  Ad-lib skills a must for Breaking News.   Things happen fast and change often.  Our Anchors must be able to change gears quickly, process information and deliver it in a concise, clear way.   Our Anchors must be able to carry the Newscast in any situation.

 

 

We are looking for someone with anchoring experience; this is not an entry-level anchor position.

 

 

 

Duties include writing and editing scripts, working with producer for newscasts and hourly updates, attending daily editorial meetings, contributing story ideas, and developing special reports as assigned, writing and posting and updating stories on station website.

 

 

 

Selected candidate must be willing to-do community appearances to help promote the station and news product.  Anchoring duties may include live field anchoring.

 

 

 

College degree in journalism or equivalent desired.  Speaking Spanish is helpful, but not a requirement.
